@iller3 I mean yeah, people often forget that every animal goes the path of least resistance. We like to think of tigers and lions as these killer machines, but really they too want to fight as little as possible

@PersonOfNoConsequence Yeah, much of what we associate today with fantasy comes from DND/warhammer/warcraft. Comparatively, Tolkien’s world feels almost like alternate history nowadays.

@Light_Of_Elohim Wdym "the" original mythos? Tolkien took inspiration from several folklores, but his works aren’t exactly based on anything concretely

@dalriada7554 well you probably would never exactly spend more energy than you would gain from eating it unless a tiger chases after a mouse or something, but rather it’s opportunity costs. A tiger could attack a big ungulate that would fight back fiercely and potentially injure the tiger, or attack a calf with only a fraction of the meat but also next to no resistance, which also keeps the tiger full for several days.

@Henn345 Well, we haven’t put that to the test. Are there any studies verifying that trained fighters can take down strongmen that are like over a hundred pounds heavier than them? Again, we have weight classes for a reason

@Henn345 Why are you so mad? A heavy person is harder to throw around and hurt to begin with, then in the case of strongmen they have insane amounts of muscle too, just not as visible as with bodybuilders. I think there’s no reason for you to get your knickers in a twist over that and it would be interesting to see Eddie against actual MMA flyweight fighters
