@mranderson4001 What does that even mean? The majority of society also views streamers as weird to begin with. What’s wrong with them simply hiding their face? That’s been such a common staple among streamers for all times. So of course they need some different way to appear in an IRL setting. Some care less about keeping the facade, especially Indie vtubers like Numi that just go out wearing a mask and are otherwise perfectly comfortable showing the rest of their irl body, and then there are those that want to show literally nothing, especially Hololive, where Pekora, the person in the video, is a part of. Also ffs, it’s Japan, you’re acting like the vid is in America, there’s been much weirder stuff in Japan

No, they are true fans whether you like it or not. Being a fan doesn’t mean you blindly follow everything someone does. Many people didn’t like Bill Cosby anymore after the truth came out, does that mean all those decades before they also weren’t "real fans"? Of course they were, doesn’t mean they would support predatory practices. It’s just a matter of fact that this is a part of Idol culture. You can like or dislike that, you don’t have to partake in it, but in the end it is a part of it.
