@iamnotamused317 don't worry it won't be modern, it will be rebuilt the same way it was before. But the fact that these modern architecture had the audacity to put their radical ideas on Notre Dame shows how low as a society we have become as a whole in architecture especially.

Im 21 and i can relate, i love early 20th century architecture like art deco or gothic. I know how you feel. I was laughed at by people who were against my ideas. I said that i will build art deco or gothic skyscrapers in the future in my architecture class and my architecture teacher laughed at me and said i will fail. I didn't listen to them and i continue to believe in creating beautiful architecture like in the past.

Don't give up! all that hard work and stress will be worth it once it's all done and beautiful just the way you wanted it.

Don't listen to that bad teachers belittling your passion. That my friend is passion for architecture. Do not give up. I feel your pain. I too am a student studying architecture and made a traditional style building. My teachers for architecture got angry and little by little forced me to change my building. It was an angry moment in my life becuase i had to start all over again. My classmates didn't support me so i felt angry and just followed what she wanted and get done with that stupid class. Like i said don't give up and continue to follow your dreams. I support you becuase im in the same problem as you are.

@brendanariki in architecture i believe everything matters even how it looks. If only we put ornament, craftsmanship, and art into our buildings like our previous eras did, But for this era then man we are in a good era. Our era of architecture has lost those important elements to what makes a great piece of architecture. Im also studying architecture and passionate about it. I might sound crazy but i am creating a new style of architecture called gothic futurism. It's both the gothic appearance but at the same time matches and relates to our present technology. I think it's a great idea. Hope someday someone gets interested in it.

@maricampari3970 we have to start a movement for the return of traditional architecture. There is just too much ugliness in today's architecture.

You're not alone in this dude, I'm an architecture student and also love traditional architecture, but it's the establishment, they want to continue their ugly design buildings ideology. This is all ideology, they are blocking traditional and classical architecture from becoming popular again. Which is unfair like people who do like the older and more beautiful styles. They even say it's not about beauty, it's about the story of the building, that's how they think. It also frustrates me a lot, that I wanna give up my classes because all students like this ugly architecture and are being indoctrinated by ugly architecture.

Sometimes I wonder what the fuck did the teachers from the 50's or 60's do to their students teaching them for architecture that architecture teachers hate traditional architecture to the core. They are not ok in the head that's all I would say.
