Teacher will block it because it's not modernist

@colummulhern8865 I agree with you, I don't think it's fair to bully old or traditional architecture, the teachers are being a little totalitarian and I think it's not okay for teachers to be like that to students. Not everyone will like modernist architecture.

It gets you angry and the ones in charge ignore you and continue with their biased education in architecture.

@KolyaUrtz I am in architecture school, currently in my 3rd year and i deeply do care about architecture, it saddens me that classical or traditional styles are looked as either old and not relevant and not unique according to these arrogant people or even called fascist by my teachers. Me who has new ideas for any kind of style of architecture, makes me look like I'm a bad person, everyone is forced to design modernist or minimalist style, it feels totalitarian and that's not right. I don't think that's right to do that especially in a professional level of education where there should be respect, but clearly there isn't, I think us who like traditional architecture and styles are fighting to keep and continue the beauty of the past because to us and many others this kind of beauty is unique and inspiring. There are many elements that were thrown away by some loud mouth modernists or revolutionist who want to control architecture with their ideas. I'm not against modernism because technology and construction advanced, I'm against the prohibition or the ban of not building or designing traditional architecture in our schools, the past is connected to our future and to our present.

@mint2574 hey you're not alone when it comes to do this, they just don't like traditional architecture because they believe it is not progressive but that isn't entirely the case, they just don't want for traditional architecture to be dominant again because in history they at the beginning were not supported but now they are way too supportive. But the good thing is that now people are starting to like the styles more so there is hope for a return.

I recently talked about beauty in my architecture school. And by quick reaction my professor got angry and told me to be quiet. It saddens me that I'm a minority in that class to design and like traditional architecture. Beauty does matter but our establishment has been hijacked by the socialist cult that the modernists are by saying that beauty doesn't matter. The sad part is that they are brainwashing the future architecture students to design in a ugly way.

So what do you believe should be built? because I'm studying architecture and looking at futuristic and contemporary styles you don't see any of the features of what a traditional or a vernacular style has because it doesn't relate to the context of a city because they design in a way that it is only served to be crazy and be independent. That's why our styles that we have from the past should be followed again and used again because this is probably the best that beauty in our humankind can produce.

@LO-dm6uf what kind of contemporary architecture do you like? Most contemporary architecture that I see is not beautiful, I'm a student in architecture and the architecture they show me is not beautiful it's very abnormal looking.

Clearly you do not study Architecture and that's fine.

Beauty does matter, as an architecture student, this is important.

Yes especially if you studied history of Architecture Becuase you will appreciate the past and the craft and the proportions of these structures, but the past is also not good Becuase back then Building technologies that we have today wouldn't exist or would be in poor condition, that's why modernism is good Becuase if it weren't for modern architecture, engineering wouldn't progress, sewers, electricity, heating, all those modern appliances wouldn't be used. I'm guessing the only downside of modernism is the lack of character and craftsmanship of the buildings.

Sad reality.
