It's part of the coriolis force, and ship cannons fire projectiles far and fast enough that effects like this are really significant, but in our everyday lives, the motion is short and slow enough as to be negligible. Your lack of understanding of this shows up a few other times. 14:25 The coriolis effect does actually induce trade/prevailing winds. This is technically a form of Taylor-Couette flow, although the original flow referred to by that name is with cylinders. Obviously, local breezes and the like are caused by nonuniform heating and landscape etc, but the earth's rotation absolutely contributes to wind.

  2. Yes. I've met people who are politically contrarian in the same kind of way. They realize mainstream stuff is full of bs, and instead of becoming generally skeptical, they just swallow random bs that isn't mainstream
