So first of all, can’t trust her judgement of intention. But in addition, her response wasn’t “oh yeah I guess I should stop talking to this man that wants to fuck me and steal me away”. It’s not just about trusting her, it’s also that she is entertaining this kind of behavior in the first place. She does not see why it’s a problem, and that combined with the initial poor judgement are the problem, nothing really to do with trust.
