  1. Obesity legitimately makes it hard to diagnose other problems because it is a comorbidity for almost everything. That's why doctors push to lose the weight first. If you get better, your problem is already fixed, and you'll be healthier either way. If that doesn't fix it, it makes figuring out what it is and doing something about it easier
