  1. For #1, I’ve experienced this kind of conflicting advice too. People are stupid about giving advice or coaching sometimes, because why or how it works doesn’t matter to most people. The full advice is this: If you want to meet someone to be a life partner, don’t go to activities explicitly and solely for the purpose of finding someone. Go to activities and have an actual social life and live, as opposed to suppressing your emotions with alcohol and loud music. If you live a life worth inviting people into, it won’t be so hard College kids say that partying is living, because it’s outside of the realm of experience from when they were in the nest; it’s new, and everything else seems boring.
