Biggest thing that irks me is that they ignore their privacy conscious users. Only a small minority of people are vocal about privacy, but everyone cares about privacy to some degree. For many people, all they’re waiting for to leave Google is an alternative that properly respects privacy. Their ads about blocking spam ring hollow when they’re still incredibly invasive with their data collection for advertising, which is just so unnecessary for how hit and miss it can be with targeting. Not to mention completely shitting the bed with YouTube, same thing there. Only reason people still use it is because the alternatives are still maturing and growing, but that transition is underway now. Open source is continuing to mature, because unlike corporate projects, most open source work can be reused and built on forever, not dying out because some company doesn’t like them anymore. This also is a bulwark against the flaky nature of Google products, never knowing when your favorite workflow will be scrapped

What’s fun is that on Linux you just have good system design from the start with permissions and scrutiny from the entire world. Whereas windows has to cover for the fact that you can just do a few clicks and have malware installed

Wait, you’re saying that people would like to see content related to the site they’re on, not some attempt at reading their mind???

Main reason I’m not getting an Apple device in the near future is because of their stance against repair. High price isn’t enough for me to boycott a company. If I want a true work computer, I wouldn’t do a MacBook because their poor thermal design and priority of thinness means they almost never are able to operate at peak performance for any length of time, so their decent specs are almost meaningless. But I do enjoy using the OS and the hardware. The touch control is amazing. Just wish they would stop being scumbags

@sillybeanthing copyright for this kind of thing is literally just supposed to help recoup cost by giving a brief monopoly

And that’s why there’s little sense in using it. They are targeting people concerned about privacy, but they don’t have the emails encrypted

1:35 Bro, you know they’re collecting user data. Stop the cap lol

Who would’ve thought that anyone around the world working on a project would bring better results than a few employees on crunch time by management

1:09 he mentions it here

@guncolony Wait they didn’t do that? I never considered it because I have hard enough time with good enough internet to not lag in multiplayer even running locally, let alone streaming the game…

So what you’re saying is that the one operating system that you had to pay out the ass for was the one with all the built in vulnerabilities, which we then had to pay extra to try to counteract lol. Glad Microsoft eventually figured this out, but people talk a lot of crap about Linux when it has had comparatively almost nothing in terms of vulnerabilities

5:08 pirated software is usually less glitchy. That’s one of the reasons people bother pirating

Defender is literally part of the OS now tho, it’s not separate software that you get

0:55 Bro, how are you not aware that it’s literally common practice to do this already
