Because of the torrent of the internet, people are forced to block out diverse speakers because you can't spend your life debating everyone who disagrees with you.   6. Pretty simple, it's because people who aren't conservative have become concerned with indoctrinating kids and taking away parental agency over education. In fact, there's a lot of people who want to ban homeschooling! There's this elitist attitude so pervasive today that if someone doesn't think the same way as you, they're stupid or evil. That is the core of the polarization issue.
