@LAXLIS Incorrect. Addicts need to want to get better to get better, and that frequently requires hitting rock bottom. Also overprotective parents destroy their children's ability to handle themselves. It's people thinking like you with no concern for knock on effects that are a lot of the problem in a wide variety of issues

Oh, and realize that if you don't figure out how to spend all of your funding, you get less funding. So you're incentivized to be inefficient!

What's difficult is that giving money to orgs means most of it goes towards just running the org, but if you give it directly to homeless people... well the reason people are homeless is most of the time not because they got unlucky with a layoff

9:50 Well, if the housing is so unaffordable, maaaaaybe that should signal to people that they shouldn't go live there. It's one thing if you're homeless, mentally ill, and stuck there. It's another to purposefully put yourself into that position and then complain about it
