  1. Central Intelligence Agency I just put linux on a new hard drive I got for my desktop. Took me 15 minutes to download the OS, make the USB installer (which is real easy if you google it, Rufus has a GUI), AND install it on the drive. And then I was able to install steam without even opening a web browser by as you said typing “sudo apt install steam”, although this could’ve been done with a GUI if you prefer. The reason it asks for the password all the time is security, permissions, and keeping you from accidentally doing something really bad. Some of these security features you can tone down, so it won’t ask for your password so often if you really want. Do you not use gmail because google is neurotic about logging into a new device?

  4. Ex Life True, but we should fix the problem by making it more accessible (much progress has been made in this). If someone can get Windows installed, it should be made just as easy to get Ubuntu installed
