  1. 1:15 It works in their minds because of a trick in wording. Marxists talk about how the collective will own the means of production, but never wtf the collective is. Because if you spell it out, it’s a lot more clear that it’s a bad idea. If left to the imagination, well then there’s possibly some other way that the collective could manifest. Either that, or they distrust this government, and the government that they imagine wouldn’t have these issues. Sort of like when you meet someone you really like and you imagine your life with them. You can’t even consider their flaws because you don’t even know them. You don’t imagine the arguments or potential strife, just the happiness you think will occur.

  2. No, OP, not with Liberalism and related ideologies. The core of which being limiting government interference in personal/private affairs, personal freedom. The reason this is so great is that the whole point is to limit government power, and if you limit government power, then there’s not much to even be exploited.

  3. Well the difference is that you had to be in the good graces of the party, and the people in charge of you in particular. People just do not appreciate how awful it is to have to constantly worry about what you say and do, because it might mess up your entire life over nothing
