@michaelgiannakoulis1777 USA has annexed the oil region of Syrian. They refused to leave Iraq despite repeated requests. Serbien lost Kosovo totaaly ok to recognize self determination that time but not the Dombass. Our double standards is limitless. Admit it we do not have themoralhigh ground here.

Your "cancel culture" discounting everything leading up to the February invasion disqualifies you for any form of an intelligent debate. They began to attack the Donbass who refused to recognize the US installed regime costing them 14,000 lives over the last 8 years. Where as the outcry from the west??? Oh yeah they were Russians. 5. they wanted to join NATO paving the way for nukes to be setup 7 minutes from Moscow. Zelenski and Putin 3 times were close to a peace agreement but each time were sabotaged by the US, UK and EU. Can see with you narrow perspective on things you seek no further then DR1 and CNN for you information. LOL

I bet you never heard of the Minsk accord??? Putin pushed for the implementation for several years even up to late last year but Ukraine refused and continue to bomb the enclave.(14K lives) Donbass requested membership since the coup but Putin flatly refused. The areas annexed are traditionally Russian. I have no problem allowing the people to decide themselves. After being bombed for 8 years hardly a surprising outcome. Remember Poroshenko's own words. "Their children will live in basements, ours with go to school". Culture banned, language banned, political parties banned... yep a model of democracy and tolerance.

Did you know that the US has been involved in over a 1000 military actions around the world since the 1990's? What is Ukraine do to warrant an invasion??? Well the citizens did nothing however. 1. After the US coup of 2014, ½ the county (Russian speaking or russian ethnic) lost representation. 2. The US installed regime then proceeded to ban opposition parties, news outlets, reporters(some killed). 3. Banned russian language (Romanian and Polish), russian culture, church and entities. 4. The areas who refused to accept the US puppet regime were then and have been ever since attacked and shelled daily for 8 years. (14K dead according to OSCE). 5. Ukraine refused to implement the Minsk accord which gave the regions autonomy but remained in Eukraine and ensured Ukraines neutrality. Instead used the 8 years to build up an army to NATO standards for the upcoming war with Russia. 5. Applied for NATO membership which ultimately ends in potential nukes being setup 7 minutes from Moscow!! Think I can understand Russia's paranoia here. It was their red line which Putin spelled out since 2007 but the west refused to listed. 6. 90,000 ukrainian troops amassed on the Donbass start of this year and according to OSCE shelling increased 1000 fold!!! A massacre of ethnic Russians was immenient. Well that's a few but could go on however I doubt your narrow mind is incapable of taking any more in without a mental overload.

@Tespri wow so the NATO destruction of those lands were OK. No point continuing there. However I think you'll find it's the Russian ethnics who are being wiped out since the coup. You could read about the Nazi Azov brigades all over western media and been up in congress as a huge problem, however since the invasion the Ukrainian regime is squeaky clean. Geopolitics and propaganda at its finest. Why wouldn't the ethnic Russians vote out of Ukraine after the treatment they recieved the last 8 years???? Self determination, good enough for Kosovo, good enough for the Donbass. All areas annexed have deep Russian history.
