Kilal Googlestaffers I agree TOTALLY with your last statement. But there were always commercials in the news. The news didn't make a profit during the '50s and '60s, but there were commercials. I saw them during the Vietnam War and Watergate eras, which were prior to Roone taking over ABC NEWS. And I've seen old '50s broadcasts which only ran 15 minutes but still had a few ads. But you're right that the news was a public service requirement. But once it was profitable, president Ray Gun dismantled the Fairness Doctrine, which led to Fux News and the false declaration of W as the winner in 2000, when in fact a later recount proved HE HAD LOST FLORIDA! So since Ailes goes back to Nixon, I guess they're both jakin ov in hell between Satanic BJs!

@Nilguiri I'm glad we fixed that disagreement, because I agree with all the stuff you just wrote. I hate those kinds of people too, and I have to live here and be subject to their laws! I call them the evil soulless murdering corporatists. But I can't hate everyone, including the voters who aren't right-wing but were just duped. So I focus on the real moneyed interests and the pols who serve them, which is almost all of them. If we could get rid of some and control the rest, most of the misled would come back to the center-left, where most people naturally are.
