Every day that's shaved off an electrician's time is a day he's not tempted to take some shortcut and fuck things up in your house. The faster you get those people out of there, the better.

@davidthurman3963 Have you considered socioeconomic factors (the game conditions) that might be driving those costs up? You're close to the answer, but you haven't quite caught onto the game just yet.

@davidthurman3963 Right, so I wouldn't just say "property costs". It's a confluence of factors that are driving prices in the states; it is just a system of contrived rules, mostly decided on by monied interests.

Dan Henderson You who? The electrician or the homeowner? Be specific.

Dan Henderson Who bears the liability if something electrical happens to the house that an electrician takes a shortcut on? Put on your big boy pants and be specific.

TEC Youtube What's the best way to determine whether or not an electrician is any good before hiring him (including his subs)?
1
TEC Youtube So how do you get reliable referrals and validate things like years of experience? BBB is already somewhat useless. Do you also get referrals for all the other electricians working for him? And which signoff are you referring to?
1
TEC Youtube You proposed a process, I'm just seeing how to validate that process. Anybody can produce referrals. How do you validate all the referrals they produce?

@spacelogic101whatif Are you asking me for a specific list, or are you just being incredulous?

Right we just want to get rid of the worst, most unreliable and error prone part of that process -- the humans.

@maddogfargo3153 Unless the master bricklayer happened to be smoking crack that day, or decided to subcontract your job out because he overextended himself.
1
@maddogfargo3153 So what percentage of the country lives in your area?
1
@davidthurman3963 That's not "really" what drives property cost in the states. It's far more complicated than that.
