  2. Wood construction is shit. It's an outdated construction technique based ad hoc (lack of) design, a pile of sticks, and a bunch of idle hands (or slaves. Yeah, work that into your grand historical perspective). It's not less wasteful. It's more wasteful. It's mostly subtractive technology. The fact that it still exists is a testament to historical legacy and complete inability to make corrections. I wouldn't compare it to hamburgers. I'd compare it to the persistence of US customary units. We need to get away from this idiotic trash as quickly as possible.
