The IT company that developed the program would defo have had remote access to the production database, even if only to be able to make program changes after the software was rolled out. That's usually how things go. No database of that size can be bulletproof, or require no enhancements, after rollout. And if anybody else had remote access, or in-house (PO) access, the developers would have been the ones to make this happen. And, if any changes were made remotely, the logs would show who, when and by how much. If money was diverted from subpostmaster funds to a PO (or other) destination, guess what, the logs will show that as well.
