  1. As someone prescribed fluoxetine (Prozac) for major depressive disorder and anxiety I can say that it's an accurate description of what it's like to be on it when you are relatively ok. Things just don't hit as hard. I'm not sure about the highs being smoothed out, but the lows certainly are. In my case I was so badly off that anything that alleviated the intense despair was worth it. I'm still here thanks to the meds. I'm better now. I'm in a better place mentally, but after the events that lead to me needing it my life still hasn't settled back down into a stable and secured pattern yet so I'm still on it, because getting on or off the stuff messes with your brain quite a lot. Being on it is fine. Being off it if you aren't constantly in despair and suffering is fine. But the transition from being on or off it is hard on you, and I want my life to be otherwise stable, especially financially, before I take the plunge and get off it. It'll "only" be about three weeks of my brain going wonky on me, but it would be best if those three weeks are after I have secured a stable income. Better to stay medicated while I'm trying to get a new job and while I'm settling into it once I manage to get one.

  3. The current day situation suggests that what he said during the Jimmy Kimmel appearance was not really a skit. Literally true in every aspect? No, I don't think they dance naked in the forest, but the essence of it, top down population control through every facet of mass media, is very, very much true.
