I'd love to have a family, the white picket fence has been my dream since I was a teenager, but what women demand as a base level is beyond insane today and if you don't meet it you are invisible. Recently there was a study that found that most women in the west rate 80% of men as ugly. Most won't even give a guy the time of day unless he has the 666, six feet, sixpack, six figures. The only one I tick is the first at 6'4". Doesn't help that society and almost all the people in it outright lied to me my whole life about what women find attractive and what is important to them. I look at the people of my parent's generation and I see genuinely ugly men who are utter assholes to everyone around them but who are somehow married with wife and kids. I'm 35, I will never be able to afford a house, I expect to die alone, and I feel so tired after doing my best my whole life with nothing to show for it. Yeah, I've got good friends, my brother, and my parents, but that just doesn't feel like enough after more than three decades of life. I just feel so tired.

  8. The sexual revolution should never have been comingled with the feminism movement. As far as I can tell that is the root cause. Separately they would have achieved their goals and ended. Together they achieved their goals and they just kept pushing to see how far it could go. In 2008 there was a study across western nations that revealed that 8% of men were virgins or had not had sex in the last year and 0% of women were virgins or had not had sex in the last year. In 2018 the same study was repeated and revealed that 28% of men were virgins or had not had sex in the last year and 0% of women were were virgins or had not had sex in the last year. A separate study on birth control in 2022 revealed that 20-25% of women had not had sex in the last year. I believe it was conducted in the US but don't quote me on that. Another study in the UK in 2022 revealed that 52% of women 30 or above were single and childless. How far can it go? To extinction.

  9.  @kimobrien.  A good example of advice that would have been useful while I was young, rather than the lies I was told instead about having all the time in the world. I hadn't really woken up to the lies I was told about relationships, or about sociey and people in general, until about three years ago, and not fully until last year. Instead I spend all my energy trying to improve myself in directions I was told by society, by every book, by every "expert," and by every person in my personal life would be the road to success. I am just too tired after spending my whole life going in the wrong directions. I don't have the energy anymore to walk the road I should have been traveling when I was young.

  14. The real test for whether human civilization has really entered a new era/improved is if this doesn't end in bloody upheaval and revolutions like every other time since recorded history began. I think not, but I'm living in the current year, not looking back centuries hence and seeing the then "obvious" signs. Edit: And that it then also doesn't end in the lamest cyberpunk/1984 dystopia remix album no one ever imagined. Though, the end of current civilization being boring, pedestrian, and looking like the punchline to a mediocre joke would fit right in with current everything.

  15. You found the NEET phenomenon recently? I've known about it since 2015-2017 somewhere. Not sure how long it predates my discovery of it, never really researched it.
