  1. This has been documented extensively in the wild with various divers. Many sharks remember and recognize specific people. Quite a few, like nurse sharks, are really friendly. Sharks might not be on the level of the various dolphin species, but they can be pretty intelligent. Which probably explains why many dolphin species are the assholes of the ocean. Kinda like chimps and humans tend to be the assholes on land. That's not to say that going diving with random sharks is a good idea, but there are conservational tourism dives with sharks.
