As usual, you are the best at explaining things on this subject in an easily understandable way while not abstracting away the important details about how they actually work.

I had to do something similar at my last job, where I'd worked for 14 years, and I despised it. Having to ask genuinely stupid questions in order to gradually lead my boss by the hand like a baby to what the problem with his plan was, all because if I just said what the problem was and what the solution was he'd always take it as an attack on his person and would respond with a counter-attack. He couldn't stand anyone ever saying that his plans weren't perfect. This was for even the smallest detail, like an issue in scheduling, work flow, or a mistake in a set of instructions for the workplace, and it only got worse when he got closer to and eventually passed retirement age.

@ArtOfTheProblem I don't really do the whole "social media" thing, sorry.

SO cool. Reminds me of BEAM robotics. Tinkering at its finest.

By the definitions cited I'd say your channel definitely falls under public history, but that's not even the axis I'd use personally. My focus would be on the content of the work and the effect it has on its readers, whether it is educational or recreational, and on that score you definitely fall on the educational side. Some might call that a difference of semantics.

Dude, you are dumber than this content creator. You need a couple million subscribers roughly to earn a decent wage doing youtube. You need tens of millions to qualify as actually wealthy. You also need to leverage that potential income through regular uploads, merch, donation streams, and patreon if you want to make the big bucks. This guy might just barely be able to buy himself a six pack of beer each weekend with what he earns from the channel.
