Glenn V. America may have some of the richest people in the world and the most billionaires. But for every rich person there are thousands of poor. There are people living on the streets. The roads are crumbling, the lights dim when you turn on a iron. Everything is old and goes clunk when you turn it on. It’s grimy. And most people are a few pay checks away from poverty or already on the edge. Lower income taxes but that’s lost in sale taxes, property taxes, charges on top of anything, forced to pay tips to restaurant staff because their employers won’t pay them decently, school fees, doctors fees. What was that quote? “Make the poorest white man think he’s better than the negroes and they’ll empty their pockets for you?”
