Was she a real judge with a Juris Doctor law degree say? Or an elected judge? Or did she pay for that job? America is a very corrupt country.

@billw219 First of all the Chief (a redundant, unnecessary and childish title that should be relegated to history books) has to be educated to university standard in law. But they can take classes to get the equivalent while on the ground. (I know you agree that all cops should be highly educated, and that we don’t need any more stupid ones) Only then can be rigorously checked out and interviewed by an independent body not connected to the police and assessed on their merits alone for what will now be just a bureaucratic job. And then be held to the same rigorous standards and laws as all government workers. They will get a decent wage, but no performance related payments and it would not be necessary to have firearms experience. The cops are a socialist construct. A government body. Like the fire department, income tax departments etc. They are instructed by laws and regulations and funded through taxes. But unlike in modern systems snd countries. Corruption is part of the culture. Why is it so acceptable to be crooked? Is it because politicians are legally allowed to take bribes? (Lobbying) Is it because the General election alone is not based on the amount of votes like it is in modern countries? The world watches America in awe of its audacity and wonder if they even know the world is leaving them behind? Nowadays things are not so rigid and successful countries have a little bit of socialism here and a little bit of capitalism there. It’s not one or the other anymore. It’s all about educating and uplifting the poor and working classes for a better world.
