  1. I have mixed feelings about Bob's situation. I recall in the 1970s, my construction-working father was laid off for nearly 2 years. Yes, money was tight BUT the tragedy was what being jobless did to his identity and soul. He went into a deep depression, and I think Bob is near that as well. Once the mind gets looped into that rut, it's incredibly hard to get out. Listen to the language and excuses he uses while talking about his situation. His mind (and his son's mind) still considers him to be an "executive " You must constantly adapt and improve yourself/your skills to survive, while humbling your ego. I'm pretty sure he could be mowing lawns, shoveling snow, doing odd repair jobs or errands for cash. So could his wife and the older kids. If his daughter didn't like their car, her butt would be walking to school!
