  1. That's not necessarily true - there's plenty of YouTube videos showing mass homelessness, especially in London and Paris. But many of those people are the refugees, who came into the country with no ties, no family members to take them in, etc

  3. In addition to politicians making unjust laws, we need to realize the social factors that have made this issue increasingly worse during the past several decades. Many Americans no longer have strong family bonds on which they can rely. Before the World Wars, it was common for generations of families to live under one roof, and that home would transfer from one generation to the next. Now, people are going bankrupt due to many things, including medical debt. The homes are not staying in the family, there's nothing for the next generation to inherit. Divorce is common, many parents were never married at all. There's no family bond on which to rely. It's every person for themselves, which is not only lonely, but the perfect set up for failure...
