  1. Clearly you can't just "build a nation" just because you want to. Even thousands of deaths and trillions of $$$ can't make it happen. Biggest mistake was to think that you are "making a difference" for Afghanistan. This should have been made clear by military -> you are there to serve interests of USA and destroy terrorists responsible for 9/11. Period. The rest is fairy tales.
