I don't even understand what vice is trying to do there. We are talking 300 THOUSAND count military force that DID NOT resist and a small "special forces" group that "got tired and hungry" and just decided not to even try. These are facts, I mean come on! How did they get tired and hungry if they didn't even start fighting yet?!!! Afghanis just surrendered to Taliban, period. They like this lifestyle apparently. Let them have it

@ianwilkinson5069 They had all the modern weapons. They had their own drones and helicopters. 300k count military USA never said they will not air support under any circumstances. Yes, thousands died within 20 years. This is expected. But today it's clear that most of those that died treated army as a "job" to get paid. If they didn't die fighting on gov. side, they'd die fighting on Taliban side. (I want to repeat that it goes for most, not all). Sorry but no one can convince me after these events that Afghani army actually servers for their country and modern values. They just got paid and that was all they cared about.

@yaqubleis6311 USA did what they had to do - destroy terrorist cells that trained 9/11 terrorists. They also found and killed bin laden. Tried to establish a reliable gov. but clearly Afghanis don't want this. This isn't what USA needed to do so they left. What exactly did they lose?

@secondsandcents2479 They didn't have to be "governed by foreign power". Point is - they were given a chance to have their own nation (somewhat "modern" or at least moving in this direction). But yes, clearly it all fell apart as soon as USA left. This part is what USA clearly miscalculated. USA miscalculated that Afghanis actually want to have a nation. Instead they just want to live in middle ages. And it's ok. USA just needs to leave and let them be.... And stop crying about human rights abuse there. It's not USA job to babysit them

@susanchan250 It looks like a "rush" because events got compressed in time as deadline was approaching. You must have a deadline for anything and everything. This is how military works. If they decided to withdraw by January then we'd only move these events to January

@Jonathonson There's always going to be a 0.0025% (or whatever it is) that is considered "elite". Any country and army. It's irrelevant though. Just an outlier and while worth mentioning, it's pointless to discuss in the context Vice tried to present it in. Afghanis didn't resist - period

@christophercamacho3451 I don't think anyone is blaming these particular 100 soldiers

You are just quoting Rogan show, literally. Invade to do what? After 9/11 it made sense. Just should have left like 10 years ago
