Martin Petrovsk Considering even famous Russian/pro-russo terrorists are claiming hundreds dead, yes I believe it. Certainly don't believe a word from any Russian "officials" who have been caught in countless lies. And I'm not gonna bite on your insult because that's exactly what you want. I'll just say, look in the mirror. I'm not the one who keeps believing fairy tale stories for the last 18 years.

osten/сыр /der Käse/the cheese/le fromage Your copy/paste factory trolling is getting old and doesn't work anymore.

Dardania Posts Has nothing to do with Slavs.... Don't color all Slavs same color. Vast majority of Russians aren't even Slavs.
2
osten/сыр /der Käse/the cheese/le fromage It's a fact. Most of Russia's population is not Slavs. All kinds of different ethnicites with their own republics and regions but yet Slavs don't even have their own. Russia is the last empire standing... Not for long though.

osten/сыр /der Käse/the cheese/le fromage "Russian" is not an ethnicity in most cases. Back in Soviet times people were given out this "nationality" when they didn't know who they are.... And there are many because Russian empire ethnicities got intermixed (just the way it works when geographically so many are on the same land). It's nothing to be ashamed of, just a fact. By the way in Russian language Русский is the ONLY "nationality" that falls under Possessive Pronoun (Nominative Case).... Meaning you belong to someone. Good reason for it because when it comes to languages there's always a reason

Виктор В Dumb ass, "народность" is NOT ethnicity! Why do I have to teach you your OWN language? And if you read "в том числе" (including), you'll see that this number includes all kinds of ethnicities not even closely related to Slavs
1
Виктор В Just stop. As an example, read about Кряшены. And I repeat, this is just ONE example. 1926 census basically painted millions of people "Russian" for various reasons. Doesn't make them Slavs, because Кряшены have nothing in common with Slavs. So logically, this 80% is NOT ethnicity but rather "nationality". You can't have people of different ethnicity and backgrounds under the same ethnicity group. Lastly, as someone who also speaks Ukrainian, I can understand (on different levels) other Slavic languages (because they share so many words)... Russians cannot. There's a huge disconnect here that you fail to understand.
1
Виктор В Mind boggling you still don't understand. This was just an EXAMPLE how ethnicity UNRELATED to Slavs were just shoved under "Russians". Why are you so hung up on this particular example? This is what happened to many ethnicities and mixed ethnicities - just marked them as Russian for simplicity. Re. language... It has nothing to do with writters you mentioned. Russian differs so much from other Slavic languages because it's influenced by other ethnicities in Russian empire (mainly Tatars), it's a fact because many words come straight from other Asian languages. Unless you specifically learned Ukrainian or at least got a good exposure to it (and tried to learn it), I won't believe for a second that you understand it because so many words are completely different from Russian.
1
Виктор В 1. Believe it or not but Russian is actually my first language. 2. I keep pointing out this example because it's right there in Wiki. And it's a historical fact that in '20 census many "Russians" were created to create the illusion of people's unity in an artificial empire so to speak. And I never said Slavs are 20% or whatever. Just said it's not 80% and clearly it's not because of what I've been trying to tell you for the last 5 posts or so.

Виктор В So I was watching the video you posted and stopped as soon as I stated hearing "Moscow Rus'" references over and over again. There was no such thing so they simply don't have any credibility. There was also no such thing as Russian language back in Kiev Rus era... Just as there were no Russians back then
