Why is this even such a controversy? ruSSo state officially and openly stated that they are defacto in war with the "West". Vast majority support or at least don't disagree with ruSSo regime. So you literally want to hand out visas to citizens of a state that wants you defeated??

@swaguelclemens9164 Not when this country is openly stating (on official levels) that they are at war with the West. Sorry, if you want to defeat the West, you have no right to go there.

@bachelor3846 Who said the goal is to stir up revolution?

@pettahify ruSSo empire didn't just "invade" a country. Their goal is to annex terrories (something that hasn't been done since WW2) and exterminate Ukrainian culture. And they are doing it to a country that has never attacked anyone and never gassed certain nationalities. By putting an = sign between all wars, you are playing into ruSSo empire hand. If anything, this war is a perfect example that it's best to preemptively (and opportunistically) take out any dictator before it's too late (Iraq, Syria).

@jmhorange You are very confused about a couple of fundamental facts: 1. So called "brain bleed" does not happen via tourist visas. And not even via student visas. This topic is about tourist visas (at least for now). 2. ruSSians were, are, and always will either support their regime or be absolutely indifferent. This is like 2+2. If they are totally ok with the genocidal war against Ukraine, what makes you think some visa ban will sway them one way or the other? What's the logic?... - ruSSo gov: "The mean Europeans not going to give you a visa anymore" - ruSSo citizen: "Oh yeah? Well, and I'm going to love you back even more!... And I'll even go die for this in Ukrainine" Really?

"Freedom to travel" ends when your neighbor is acknowledging that they are waging a war against you

@swaguelclemens9164 1. ruSSians had about 20 years to take out a regime that wasn't about "free elections". It was not always this strong domestically. 2. Ukraine clearly showed #1 is possible. 3. #1 and #2 are a solid proof that ruSSian overwhelmenly support chauvinist imperial regime.
