  2. I wouldn't say "for good". Don't have to look far back in history and see that russian empire has crumbled more than once and every time it's getting smaller and smaller. They aren't as strong as people tend to think. Yes, they have nukes but so did USSR. Fact is though, today's russian economy is smaller than tiny (in comparison) Italy. Putin will die and likely there'll be some sort of "power struggle" when Russians will not have time to even think about Ukraine. That will give Ukraine a chance to take back territories.

If USA lets Russia get away with Ukraine (occupy more territories or bend on NATO open-doors) then China will see this as the end of USA influence in the entire world (Afghanistan as a prelude) and will move to take over Taiwan.

Ukraine isn't in NATO and hasn't even been grated MAP. 2. Russia occupied parts of Ukraine in 2014 when there wasn't even talk of NATO. 3. USA gave security assurances to Ukraine when they signed Budapest. At the time of occupation in 2014, nothing has changed in terms of NATO and Ukraine. The above listed are undeniable historic facts and you just have to deal with it. Sometimes collective West has to stand up to a bully (russia) and this is that time.
