2,5 years was plenty of time for Hungary to find alternatives.

@asdfhun I call bs. Even EU reps basically saying the same thing. Germany switched away from total dependency on gas within a year while Hungary still insists on buying russian gas. Yes it takes $ but it's not Ukrainian problem. If at least Hungary was siding with Ukraine in this war, maybe. But it's the opposite

@asdfhun The story isn't necessarily about gas but it surely is about Hungary and how it hasn't done anything to diversify it's energy. Instead of working on it, by your own logic - there are just excuses on top of excuses. EU has a vast internal pipeline system and surely Hungary doesn't need russian gas when even Ukraine stopped using russian gas years ago. Adding a couple of bypasses or additions is really cheap in the grand scheme of things. Ukraine did this before 2022 on their own dime. You just need to set this goal and then it's possible. Same goes for oil. You can come up with countless excuses not to do anything or you can just set the goal and do it.
