Sure, if China went "all in" I'm sure they'd be fine. South Korea is doing just fine and so did Hong Kong. But China isn't a western system by any means so not surprised it's having issues now

@denisgorjunov really? USA economy is running at full steam and the stock market is at an all time high.
13
@Skeletomania I said so DID Hong Kong. Until China took over. Only reinforces my point
9
@denisgorjunov Really? How cute for you to tell me (in Boston) how we really are doing.
3
@calvyncraven1141 so why are Chinese running to USA via Mexican border? I also don't see "Americatowns" in China but Chinatowns are in every USA city
3
@joerosen5464 My family is doing just fine. Systems Engineer here. Or you are going to tell me you know better?
2
@denisgorjunov LMAO you don't even know the time zones
1
@calvyncraven1141 really? Lowest unemployment since like 1970s. GDP record high. But hey, Chinese schema is better 🤣🤦♂️
1
@denisgorjunov 🤣🤡 not well enough to know when Eastern USA goes to sleep
1
@linli1698 economy shrinking? 🤦♂️ Factual recorded statistics disagree with you so I'm not even going to bother debating you
1
@gfys756 ok. Add to what I said record GDP and lowest unemployment since the 1970s. If you don't like it,. maybe move to China with a better system?
1
@calvyncraven1141 says who?
1
@calvyncraven1141 ok ...., so let's get back to the topic. Is China doing better? Because what you just said about GDP and inflation can be said about pretty much any other country (in the West too)
1
@calvyncraven1141 answer my direct question to you. Why are Chinese running to USA via Mexican border? I also don't see "Americatowns" in China but Chinatowns are in every USA city
1
@fogbank South Korea was "brought up" with USA oversight. So was Japan. Both are absolutely Western style economies and as a result - world power economy power houses
1
@TheKkpop1 and? 🤣 We are talking about economy. If you are unable to stay on topic - just be quiet
1
@hughmungus2760 🤣 🤦♂️ um no. You missed countless documentaries that state otherwise (videos right from the border and interviews of those that are crossing). By the way, there are millions of Chinese that immigrated to USA before COVID. No opposite flow to China
1
@hughmungus2760 no economy is perfect but it's a fact that immigrants are gravitating to USA/EU (Western economies) and not the other way around
1
@TheKkpop1 little do you realize but you only reinforced my point 😂. We aren't talking about hegemony here. We are talking about economic structures and you just proved my point that Western style economies are the best we've got so far. Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Western Germany (vs Eastern Germany). Heck.... Even Vietnam today is doing awesome because they are embracing capitalism (I just recently read an article called "is Vietnam becoming a new Asian tiger")
1
@TheKkpop1 No. You are missing the point. This topic is about economies, not geopolitics. People on the ground just want to have the best possible life standard. And as I already explained, we have perfect examples (pretty much real life experiments) of "western" vs. "other" economies competing. Same German people - only Western Germany was the economic monster. Same Korean people - only South Korea is the economic monster. Same Chinese people - only Hong Kong was the economic monster. There isn't a SINGLE example of this kind that shows otherwise. Vietnam is absolutely not like China and embraces capitalist idea. That's the main reason why they are so successful. Laos (commies) aren't. I rest my case. I couldn't care less to discuss geopolitics... This thread is about economies
1
@TheKkpop1 Vietnam is a communist state but their economy AND openess is capitalist-like. Copying China? No. Hence this video is on DW.
