  1. The quality of building materials can really only be measured against the environment it's in and forces it's subjected to. Concrete brick and steel might be great in some regions, but in regions prone to Earthquakes, concrete houses...even ductile concrete, and bricks tends to crumble or collapse in an Earthquake while wood is flexible.

  2. Most Mexicans are mestizo, meaning they have Spanish and indigenous American heritage. My friend's mother is Mexican, his father is European, his ancestry test said 64% European and the rest native American so that means his mother, though she only knows herself to be of Atzec heritage, has some European in her, probably a few generations back, but she is predominantly indigenous.

  3. Ashkenazi jew here. You're wrong. Most jews in L.A. live no farther south than Pico Robertson. Housing prices just went up in the city because of supply and demand and those little abuelas rightfully started cashing in and selling their houses to the highest bidder.

  4. I misread the title and thought this was in China and thought "Wow, that looks just like Mexico". Anyway, I understand that home front shops are part of Mexican culture, but there are two things Mexicans can do that will significantly improve the aesthetics of many of their towns and cities, and that is 1. Stop with the graffiti. Mexico has more graffiti than any country I've seen. It's literally everywhere. Choose any random street in any city or town in Mexico and I promise you there will be graffiti within eye sight. 2. Put your left over building materials out of sight. I know you have to keep the house technically under construction for tax purposes and you are planning to add another floor, but clean up the chunks of brick and concrete in the meantime.
