  1. I thought the signal on 6417kHz was that of XSL or the slot machine oddity. Said to be Japanese Naval Defence. It is often broadcast across multiple channels in the 6 and 8 Mhz bands and is very loud here in Australia after greyline. Given that it is audible every evening here with consistent strong signals, it is definitely not Russian. Whether the Russians are using this type of waveform/modem as well is unknown to me.
