The filibuster is one of the mechanisms which preserves republicanism. To take that away, we would have nothing but mob rule.

He's a Communist who praises Stalin and Castro.

No Bernie, we aren't a democracy, we are a republic. You can't even get that right. The leftist democrats are trying to destroy our republic, the MAGA movement is trying to save it. Sorry, but I'm not going to take advice from a self avowed Communist who praises Lenin, Stalin, and Castro.

@rr_gaming4954 There are registered democrats and then there are leftists who register as democrats...case in point, AOC. The latter is to whom I'm referring.

@LaissezFaire7 What?

@alext3811 That's not true.

No, he doesn't. Bernie is a Communist who never held a real job during his entire life.

@Osti67 Bernie is a socialist, which is a stepping stone to communism. He certainly is not a capitalist.

@pacotaco1246 Communism is state owned production of goods and services. Everything is owned by the state, there is no private property. In a Communist system, there are two classes, the ruling class and the proletariat. This is what Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, AOC, and Elizabeth Warren eventually want to implement in the United States.

@Osti67 Stalin, Mao, Lenin, etc were all Communists of some variant. Communism has never worked in practice...instead of leveraging for good the strengths and weaknesses of human nature, Communism foolishly ignores it.

@Osti67 Police, roads, firefighters are public goods and services, that is not socialism. Government (collectivism) control and ownership of private goods is what we capitalists are against. My opinion is the free market should be allowed to flourish with as little intervention from the government as possible. The only responsibilities the government should have is creating and enforcing the rules to establish a level playing field, to protect United States sovereignty, and to defend our rights.

@Osti67 I am not against accessible and affordable healthcare in America, but our capitalist system is one of the reasons why we have developed medical technologies, procedures, and pharmaceuticals that are used around the world to save millions of lives. American citizens also subsidize the cost of pharmaceuticals for foreign nations...that's why American citizens pay ridiculous prices for drugs while some other nations pay pennies on the dollar. I think you need to consider the ripple effects and possible unintended consequences of these proposals. These are extremely complex issues which do not operate in a vacuum. There is a solution, but government run healthcare is not one of them, in my opinion. Crony capitalism I think is a major factor, as it precludes free market forces from competing on a level playing field.

@christinabutterfield1801 I have, the only real job be seemed to have had was a carpenter. Most of his life, he's been gifting off of politics.
