  1.  @kdkatz-ef2us  Because social media has become so pervasive that it now effectively serves as the public square. Allowing an oligarchy to control the message in the public square is dangerous and unamerican...it borders on fascism. They should be labeled as a common carrier, similar to the phone company. If they are acting as publishers, which they are, then section 230 protections should be removed.

  5.  @Matt-fl8uy  Yes, but that's not what the social media companies are doing. They are selectively censoring people based on their own political biases. They are influencing elections and using their power to promote only those narratives they agree with. For example, censoring information about the virus and suppressing the story about Hunter Biden's laptop. And Trump didn't incite violence.
