Thinking he has so much power and so full of himself...sounds like he's got the right qualifications to be a real cop.

@brandonborgerding182 Probably.

@trizzlehizzle9068 But that internet lawyer is correct. A judge has no authority to order a person to talk to his father.

@michaelfalkner1186 The children have the freedom of speech. They don't have to talk to their father. A judge cannot issue an order which violates one's civil rights.
5
Why? I think it would depend on what he did while impersonating a cop and his motives.

@michaelfalkner1186 Yes, the rights of children are a bit more complicated, but children do have first amendment rights. There is plenty of case law which affirms this.
3
@michaelfalkner1186 What does that have to do with first amendment rights?

@1M005E1 Kids should be seen and heard. Change my mind.

I remember that case.

He would be seeing stars if he did that to me.

12 year initial sentence? A little ridiculous.

@bubblez4859 Just curious, why wouldn't you want to press charges.

I'm dead.

We do have rights. They can be violated, but not taken away. Many police do go to prison, but you usually only hear about the ones acquitted.

@gregchenoweth7267 Rights are granted to us by nature, not by man. Man cannot take away the rights nature has granted you, man can only violate them. This is from the perspective of natural law, upon which the Constitution was founded.
1
@gregchenoweth7267 I think you are missing my point. Rights are granted to us by nature. They cannot be legitimately taken away, only violated.
1
@gregchenoweth7267 Here is an analogy to help you understand my point: Imagine the sun as a symbol of natural rights—its light shines because of what it is, not because someone permits it to shine. Now imagine a tyrant comes along and builds a giant wall to block the sunlight from reaching certain people. Did the tyrant destroy the sun? No. He simply blocked its light—he violated the right of others to benefit from it. The sun still exists and still shines, regardless of whether people can see it or feel its warmth. In the same way, natural rights—like the right to life, liberty, and self-defense—exist by nature. They aren’t given by governments. A tyrant can violate those rights, but he can’t erase them. He’s just building walls to block something he has no rightful power over.

@gregchenoweth7267 I don't disagree with your comment, but you don't seem to understand the nuance I'm trying to get at. Here is an analogy to help clarify: Think of natural rights like sunlight. The sun shines because that’s what it does by nature—it doesn’t need permission to shine. Its light exists independently of anyone’s opinion or action. Now imagine someone holds up an umbrella or builds a tall fence to cast a shadow over you. The sunlight is still shining—it hasn’t disappeared. You’re simply being kept from experiencing it. Your access has been interfered with, but the sunlight itself still exists. In the same way, your natural rights are always there—like the sun. Someone can obstruct your ability to exercise those rights, but that doesn’t mean the rights have ceased to exist. They’re just being ignored or disrespected, not erased.

@JENDALL714 Probably.

@shafferryan6521 There are more loopholes for abusive women.
1
@Cass Taylor As a well informed person, I can tell you that you've violated people's rights and lied on incident reports.

@jamesplymire5342 Forty years is too much.

It seems that "judge" needs some time at Children's Village. Does this dummy understand freedom of speech?
