On the second part, the president has the authority to claim any record created during his tenure as personal records, and that includes classified documents (excluding records classified under statute). The process is negotiation with NARA after the president steps down from office. This is affirmed by the Judicial Watch v Clinton case.

  16.  @mikew764  If Trump really is guilty of these alleged crimes, then the DOJ better get busy indicting Comey, Wray, Hillary Clinton, Hunter, Strzok, Fauci, Brennan, Schumer, and dozens of other criminal politicians. I'm all for prosecuting crime, but it can't be politically motivated and it must be applied equally to friends as well as opponents. If they go after only Trump and no one else, then most of the country will see this for what it is, an attempt to take the choice of president away from the people.

We don't know, but if he did, it likely would have leaked. I assume you want the DOJ toindict Biden when he steps from office, right?

The president has the sole authority to categorize those records. Then, the negotiation process between NARA and the former president begins. That's how it's always worked. They are suddenly changing the rules because it's Trump.
