@promethiac2641 Gold takes effort to mine, it is in demand, it is used across many Industries, it cannot be destroyed or created. This is intrinsic value, not faith based value.

@EdwardOtero-p8c That's true, but there are solutions, for example, like a hybrid system, where the dollar is backed by multiple tangible value stores. It could be backed by other metals, land, commodities, etc.

@promethiac2641 Faith and tangible assets are two very different stores of value. Of course, we agree that gold (and other metals) is worth something because it is relatively rare, it takes work to mine, and it's highly in demand; and we agree on that value for objective reasons.
