  1. You could absolutely buy a cannon when the 2A was passed. Private citizens should have lawful access to the same weapons as the military. The 2A is not primarily for hunting or self protection, but a deterrent to tyranny.

  3.  @ashleywhite9641  You don't understand how a domestic war would likely play out...there are many variables to consider. For example, if an actual war broke out between the people and the government, some of the military would side with the people.
