  12.  @801westvalley4  Prayers may or may not be useless. Their are studies which show that prayers do actually have an affect. In any case, the root causes need to be addressed, and the root cause isn't guns, it's the fact that our system of values has eroded and its been replaced by green, envy, and vanity. Too many people put themselves ahead of everyone else, they care more about getting likes on social media than actually spending quality time with friends and family. It's not the guns. The mass killings and murders are a symptom of a much deeper problem. People feel hopeless, they are nihilistic, they don't believe in anything larger than themselves. We have lost our way. It will continue to get worse until we begin to live the values which make us whole.

  14.  @hvdiv17  I agree. But I'm referring more to the root causes of why these shootings happen in the first place. Yes, we do need armed security to help prevent the symptom, but the underlying cause will still exist. Long term is we need to stop the moral rot which causes people to become nihilistic and hopeless.
