  1. Signing the mineral deal would be a big step towards peace. Zelensky understands this, and the fact that he did what he did today shows he doesn't want peace.

  2. @MisterDee777  The deal would put a US presence in the country, and the US would have a vested interest in protecting its investment. The whole point was to make Ukraine interests, our interests. At this point, there really is no reason to keep sending cash and weapons to Ukraine to continue a war that Ukraine cannot win.

  3.  @bigmick562  The US doesn't have many of the rare earth minerals that Ukraine has. These are the ones that we mostly rely on China for.
