  11.  @darkbrandon8436  We are a republic, not a democracy. Mob rule is not how we run the country. For example, using reductio ad absurdum, what if a candidate said he was going to outlaw farming. Since urban voters don't even think about farms or the consequences of shutting down farms, they wouldn't really care, but they would eventually suffer the consequences of that policy should that candidate win. This is why the interests of voters are represented, not individual voters.
