Canada uses tariffs more than any other Western country. If Canada can do it, so can the US.

@NihloPath What "marginalized groups" do you perceive as being blamed? All socialists blame the wealthy for the problems experienced by "marginalized groups."

@verycoldice4 Yes, they will in the short term, but we already know that.

@NihloPath Where do you think it's going? And what specific money are you talking about? I'll be more than happy to explain it to you. I know you've been programmed into thinking "tax cuts for the rich" and "they must pay their fair share," but the real world is not that simple. Collectivism does not work better than capitalism, despite its problems. Economic collectivism competes with basic human nature.

@NihloPath Read more. Read some history, take some classes in human psychology, history, and applied economic theory. Your very simplistic view of the world does not reflect reality. Communism creates permanent misery for all, while capitalism creates misery for some, but with the capacity to change their circumstances. Yes, there are a few obscenely wealthy people, but that negative is worth the overall benefits. Perfection can never be achieved.

@NihloPath The top 20 wealthiest Americans have a net worth of $2.7 trillion, and the vast majority of that is unrealized wealth. Total US household wealth is $199 trillion.

@NihloPath Half of the country pays no federal income tax, and many of them actually get tax credits. They get taxes back that they didn't even pay.

@muffi3875 Ok. Whatever that means. Sorry, but the world's ATM ran out of money. Looks like your country will have to finally grow up.

@lolomim1 Canada employs more tariffs than any other Western country. If Canada can protect its industries, so can the United States.
2
@NihloPath 20 people with over 50% of the country's money? What are you talking about? 😂😂
2
@NihloPath I can't talk to people like you. You're just so dug into your flawed world view that no amount of reason and evidence can change your mind. It's pretty sad.
2
@mschrad13 Yes, because you know so much more than his team of economic geniuses who have vast experience in real world applied economics. Maybe you should tell him before he makes a mistake.

@muffi3875 Your response lacks substance.

@nix1090 Your response lacks substance.

@nameless2259 Yes, but there are stipulations in the trade agreement that aren't being adhered to. Canada and Mexico are free to challenge Trump's tariffs through the dispute process.
1
@muffi3875 We'll be just fine. You just go ahead and give your sovereignty away to the European Union and blow all your money on social programs. But the US is not going to continue footing the bill for your defense.
1
@lolomim1 Don't know yet, we'll have to wait and see.
1
@kalvitien Ok. And? This was all expected. And the rest of your comment is must not based on reality.

@NihloPath I'm talk about the wealth of the citizens. Total citizen household net worth is $199 trillion.
