@infranium1572 I agree the ratification process should be used if they want to amend the Constitution. Trying to use legislation to circumvent the Constitution is reprehensible.

Correct. That gets on my nerves too. If most Americans want to change the Constitution, there is a process for doing that. It is illegal to use legislation to circumvent natural rights.

@goblingoblineus928 Legislation is not the Constitution. The Constitution can be amended via ratification, not via congressional legislation.

@goblingoblineus928 Law abiding legal US citizens should have access to any firearms that the police/military use. The founders knew that firearms technology would advance over time, which is why they never specifically addressed the types of firearms permitted. They imagined that if there came a time when the people would have to forcefully overthrow a tyrannical government, that the people would need the same types of firearms used by the police and the military.

@goblingoblineus928 What about well regulated? You know the clause about the militia is separate from the clause about the people, right? The founders wouldn't write a redundant sentence like that.
