@winsomemartinez The millionaires and billionaires already pay 80% of all taxes while the bottom ~40% pay zero. Punishing success never works, it does the opposite of what's intended.

@cellardoor1122 It's not offset, please stop being willfully ignorant.

@cellardoor1122 You are clueless.

@winsomemartinez Most people move throughout income brackets during their lives, they don't just stay there. Punishing successful people usually means those successful people will create fewer opportunities for others to improve their lot in life. A rising tide lifts all boats.

@winsomemartinez And that study is a fact. Just because it doesn't support your worldview doesn't make it false.

@cellardoor1122 Prove your claim first and I'll rebut it with the information I have.

We are going to have to suffer at least until next year. Hopefully, it won't be so bad that recovery is not possible.

@Jasper_Yay636 What am I lying about?

@Kill-The-Architect187 They already pay their share, more than their share. It is absolutely about punishment and "sticking it to the rich." Even AOC said so.

@Kill-The-Architect187 Well, you got me on that one. Lol.

@winsomemartinez But what about the jobs and businesses those billionaires create? Don't those businesses and the employees of those businesses also pay taxes? I think your view is shortsighted. Also, I don't think any billionaires pay only 10% on realized income. In my opinion, there should be no income taxes at all. The US was funded without income tax until the biggest con job of all was passed in 1913.

@winsomemartinez Same here.

@thememo6019 It doesn't.

@winsomemartinez I don't know when that period was. Please tell me, I am always open to educating myself and changing my view if the facts show that I'm wrong.

@winsomemartinez I do agree that we have become an oligarchy, unfortunately. You have made some points that I will consider. I will do some research on the era of Eisenhower, I want to know exactly to what extent each of policy and tax rates had on growth during that time.
