@edmunddantes7097 Look up the Puckle Gun, the Kalthoff Repeater, Cookson Repeater, and the Belton Flinklock Musket. All of these were capable of rapid fire. (Cookson Repeater I think was late 17th century).

It is more important. Not only that, but the people in this video are misrepresenting the purpose of the 2A....and it's probably intentional.

Other countries don't have a 2A right. We should address the root causes, not the tool being used. Taking away the tool doesn't solve the underlying root causes.

@luigithewall2224 We actually had more households with guns in the 1980s than we do now. Mass shootings during that decade were extremely rare. They shot up during the mid nineties. The root causes are more likely mass medicating the populace with SSRIs (which just happened to be introduced in the mid nineties), and a large part of society rejecting traditional values and spiritualism, but embracing values which corrupt the soul, like vanity, selfishness, envy, etc. It's a cultural problem, not a gun problem.

 @icebiirb9440 The well regulated militia is not a prerequisite to owning firearms. We have the right to own firearms so we can form a well regulated militia when the need arises.

@luigithewall2224 Why would I make things up? Making things up doesn't help anyone address the problem and would only serve to discredit me. The data is out there to research from official sources. Most people just jump to guns being the problem, but they don't look for other possible contributing factors. Knee jerk reactions don't help solve challenges to critical problems.

Well, I doubt the 2A will ever be repealed, at least not for the foreseeable future. Repealing the 2A would effectively make our other rights even more vulnerable to infringement by an ever increasing authoritarian government.

We don't ignore any part of the 2A, but this hit piece is misrepresenting the intent of the 2A. It gives the people the right to own guns so they can form a well regulated militia when necessary. A well regulated militia cannot be formed by people who don't have firearms.
