You're naive.

Hey, just make it $200/hour. And let's increase the income tax for businesses to 90% and individuals to 85%. Just imagine how much that would boost growth. 🤡

Socialism divides a single pie so everyone is equally miserable. Capitalism creates more pies.

@sebcw1204 Inexperienced people with sense may agree with him, but not those who possess both wisdom and sense.

@pat77pat What I spam are mostly well thought out ideas, because I endeavor to understand human nature and history.

@sebcw1204 Tuition is high because of government intervention. And if one is truly brilliant, one wouldn't need to attend a $500K Ivy League university.

Socialism divides a single pie, while capitalism creates more than one pie.

@sebcw1204 What do you mean exactly by wealth inequality? Most people don't stay at one income level their entire lives, they usually move up as they gain experience and skill. You need to look at time series data, not a point in time snapshot. And, of course, there will always be wealth inequality, because people have different skillsets and interests. A person who is interested in medicine is going to generally make more than, say, an accountant or plumber.

@pat77pat Laugh as you may, but it's true.

@pat77pat Everybody who thinks socialism works, says that. I guess nobody has ever tried "real socialism," right?

@sebcw1204 Why does it matter that the rich get richer if the poor also get richer? Tell me, what is your ideal economic system? Because anything you say that attempts to equalize wealth across a country as large and diverse as the US, cannot work. Most billionaires made their money. And most children of the top 20% of income earners lose that status in 20 years, on average.

@sebcw1204 By guaranteeing student loans, that's how. Schools are able to hike tuition with increasing access to government loans.

@sebcw1204 You're right, it's price gouging, and it's because schools know they can get it. We have placed too much emphasis on university education. And when we indoctrinate young people that they will always be a failure without a college education, they feel there is no other choice but to pay.
