It is being done in Oxford: "People do not realize that residents will only be allowed within 15 minutes of their home address, and violators will be fined. For example, under the new proposals, if any of Oxford’s 150,000 residents drive outside their designated district more than 100 days a year, they could be fined £70. In addition, the government will track and control your every movement through your smartphones & facial recognition technology..." That is just the beginning. They are selling it on "convenience," but it's really about control.

@rockhound4080 Because you are approving of government control and monitoring of citizens. Giving up your freedom and privacy for your own personal convenience undermines the rights and freedoms of all citizens. Fifteen minutes cities are not about convenience, but control. All of us should stand in solidarity against big brothers control and monitoring. Fifteen minute cities would be fine if they were only about convenience.

@edmunddantes7097 In reality, it's the working people who have control over the infrastructure, not government bureaucrats. Hard working citizens run the country, not the government, it's just that citizens have been brainwashed to think they have no power, but in essence, we have all the power if we could unite and exert it. But that's why the bureaucracy wants us divided, so that we remain weak and dependent on government. For example, border control could just shut down the border and stop illegal immigration if they wanted to, but they don't realize their own power. They are still blindly following orders, even if those order are destructive and illegal. People need to snap out of it.

@edmunddantes7097 I'm not against walkable neighborhoods, I'm against the government command and control apparatus that is part of it. Please understand, they are selling the sizzle and downplaying the fine print.

@latenitewaffles7926 But don't we already have walkable cities? In any case, the proposed "15 minute cities" are inextricably linked with the command and control apparatus. It's not police and military budgets that bother me, it's the fact that police and military very often blindly follow orders instead of honoring their oaths to the Constitution. This is what happens when a society loses its core foundational values and embraces materialism and scientism, where doing the easy thing is preferable to doing the right thing.

@Nobddy Not in the early stages, because it would be rejected, but the plan is to realize that goal through incrementalism. I think one of the challenges is that most people think the goals of the "ruling class" are in alignment with their own; they are not.

@marksanchez7323 There are proposed laws designed to end single family zoning, meaning they want to do away with suburbs. This is not a theory, this is a fact. All you have to do is research it. The media do not tell you these things.

@edmunddantes7097 Again, go to the official Oxford City Council website and read about the 15 minute city, it's all there in black and white. And you have to try to understand, sociopathic.authoritarians don't push everything all at once, they do it incrementally. If you study history and psychology, it's very easy to predict what's going to happen. I knew the Patriot Act would be used to spy on millions of innocent American citizens. I knew people would be strong armed into taking an experimental drug. I knew January 6th would be used to smear all Trump voters. The bureaucrats in government view you as an enemy, not as one they are supposed to serve. Go read the published documents.

Ask yourself what that reason is. It's not paranoia to question the motives of people who want to tell you what to eat, drive, read, and how and where to live, it's called being a critical thinker.

This is all glued together with facial recognition, social credit scores, monitored travel, and digital currency. @car_tar3882 That's not how it works. They aren't going to physically stop you, but the conditions will be created such that it makes it difficult or impossible. For example, they are trying to get rid of suburbs through the AFFH.
